Are you looking for a good drink to serve at your next party? We’ve found 5 of the easiest (and yummiest) DIY cocktails!
1. Dry Martini
You'll need: 75ml gin, 15ml dry vermouth, dash of bitters, lemon slice or olives to garnish.
Method: Pour the ingredients into a mixing glass filled with ice cubes. Stir according to strength preference (the longer you stir, the more diluted the drink). Strain into a chilled martini glass. Add a dash of bitters. Garnish with a lemon twist.
2. Champagne Cocktail
You'll need: White sugar cubes, bitters, chilled champagne.
Method: Dip white sugar cubes into Angostura Bitters until they absorb the bitters and change colour. Place cubes into champagne flutes. Top with chilled champagne.
3. Midori Splice
You'll need: 30ml midori, 30ml malibu, pineapple juice, coconut cream.
Method: Fill your glass with ice, build the ingredients and float the coconut cream on top.
4. Yule Mule Jug
You'll need: 9 limes, 750ml vodka, crushed ice, 3 x 750ml bottles ginger beer, chilled.
Method: Juice 6 limes. Cut remaining 3 limes into small wedges. Pour vodka and 1 cup lime juice into a carafe or jug. Stir to combine. Half-fill twelve 300ml-capacity highball glasses with crushed ice. Pour over 1/3 cup vodka mixture. Top with ginger beer and lime wedges. Serve.
5. Watermelon Vodka Slushie
You'll need: 150g frozen watermelon, 30ml Vodka, 30ml coconut water, juice of ½ a lime, 2 large mint leaves.
Method: Place all ingredients into a blender and blend until smooth. Serve in a tumbler and garnish with fresh mint.
